PSV Mechanic – Join Arriva

Full‑time | 5 out of 7 shift rota (mornings, afternoons & late shifts) | £26.35 per hour (£54,808 per year) | Free bus travel for you & your household | Ongoing training & EV upskilling | 25 days holiday

What you’ll do:

  • Carry out routine servicing, maintenance, and safety inspections on buses
  • Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and air system faults
  • Repair engines, brakes, steering, suspension, and other vehicle parts
  • Prepare vehicles for MOT inspections
  • Complete job cards and maintenance records accurately
  • Follow health & safety procedures at all times
  • Work closely with the workshop team
  • Assist with breakdowns and emergency repairs when needed
  • Keep the workshop clean and organised
  • Manage and order parts when required

What we’re looking for:

  • NVQ Level 3 / City & Guilds in Heavy Vehicle Maintenance
  • PSV/HGV mechanical experience – preferably within a bus or coach environment
  • Strong fault‑finding & diagnostic skills
  • Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings, weekends, and public holidays
  • Full UK Driving Licence (PCV licence – Cat D highly desirable)
