We are now looking for a Treasury Analyst to join our team in Sunderland. This is a great opportunity for someone looking to develop their treasury career within a collaborative and fast-paced environment.
The Role
Reporting to the Senior Treasury Manager, you will support the day-to-day operational activities of the Treasury function. You’ll play a key role in managing liquidity, processing payments, maintaining treasury systems, and ensuring accurate reporting across the Group. Working within Arriva’s In-House Bank (IHB), you will contribute to ensuring efficient treasury operations, strong controls, and continuous process improvement.
Key Responsibilities
- Support day-to-day treasury operations including liquidity, funding, FX, payments, forecasting, and reporting
- Manage the daily liquidity position, highlighting risks such as overdrafts, funding requirements, and payment needs
- Perform bank reconciliations and analyse Treasury transactions within the Treasury Management System (TMS)
- Produce and distribute monthly statements for In-House Bank (IHB) counterparties
- Process payments via TMS and banking platforms, including BACS, payroll, treasury, and ad-hoc payments
- Maintain and administer the TMS, including users, reports, dashboards, and data accuracy
- Support all treasury reporting requirements, ensuring outputs are accurate, auditable, and delivered on time
- Respond to internal and external treasury queries, including KYC requirements
- Support annual compliance programmes and internal control processes
- Identify opportunities to improve processes and enhance reporting efficiency
- Ensure compliance with Arriva Treasury policy and regulatory requirements
What We’re Looking For
Qualifications
- Degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related discipline
- Studying towards or holding a recognised qualification (e.g. AMCT, CIMA, ACCA, ACA)
Experience
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in treasury or a banking environment
- Exposure to cash management, forecasting, and financial analysis
Skills & Knowledge
- Strong analytical skills with excellent attention to detail
- Highly organised with the ability to prioritise tasks effectively
- Advanced Excel skills and good MS Office proficiency
- Strong communication skills with the ability to build relationships across teams
- Proactive mindset with a willingness to learn and develop
- Ability to work to tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Knowledge of ION Reval or similar treasury systems is desirable but not essential
