About the Role
Weâre looking for a handsâon, reliable, and safetyâfocused Service Assistant to join our Light Maintenance team at Scarborough Depot. During this role you will be helping complete the overnight servicing which will include Train Presentation and Fuel Point operations. Youâll play a key part in ensuring our customer fleet is serviced, safe, and ready for service every day.
What Youâll Be Doing
- Operating the fuel point and CET plant safely and efficiently.
- Servicing trains overnight, including:
- Fuelling traction units
- Filling water tanks (toilet and wholesome water)
- Replenishing oils, coolants, sanding systems, and screenwash
- Supporting other onâtrain system topâups
- Ensuring efficient flow of vehicles through the depot.
- Carrying out basic maintenance activities to documented instructions (VMI).
- Completing all required paperwork accurately.
- Supporting Technical teams.
- Maintaining housekeeping standards across the fuel point and depot.
- Always working safely and following company procedures and PPE requirements.

- NVQ Level 2 in Engineering or equivalent (BTEC / City & Guilds)

- Understanding of production efficiency techniques
