# **Master Technician – Arriva UK Bus (Heckmondwike Depot)****£24 per hour | 38.5 hours per week | Permanent | PSV Experience Required**Arriva UK Bus is looking for a highly skilled and ambitious **PSV Master Technician** to join our engineering team at **Heckmondwike Depot**. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced engineer who thrives on complex diagnostics, problem-solving, and being the technical expert others rely on.As our Master Technician, you’ll be the **go-to specialist** in the depot for advanced fault finding, OBD diagnostics and high-level system expertise—acting as the key link between the engineering team and the Engineering Manager.## ## **What you’ll be doing*** Take the lead on complex mechanical and electrical diagnostics across our PSV fleet.* Diagnose and repair issues across engines, gearboxes, axles, body systems and high-voltage equipment.* Work with advanced systems including CAN Line, After-Treatment Exhaust Systems, Multiplex networks, Euro5/Euro6 engines and hybrid technologies.* Be the technical authority for fault investigations, root cause analysis and system performance.* Act as custodian of all technical campaigns and fleet checks, ensuring our buses meet the highest safety and compliance standards.* Provide expert advice to the Engineering Manager and liaise with OEM suppliers, chassis manufacturers and technical support teams.* Support engineers across the depot and mentor apprentices where required.* Carry out technical projects and trials on behalf of the wider Engineering leadership team.## ## **What we’re looking for*** **PSV engineering experience is essential**.* NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in Bus & Coach, Heavy Vehicle or Automotive Engineering.* Strong diagnostic capability using tools such as Cummins Insite, Volvo Tech Tool, ACTIA, WABCO, Xentry and similar.* Good working knowledge of electrical systems, wiring looms, harnesses, alternators, starters and multiplexing.* Confident using IT systems including Word, Excel, Outlook and diagnostic software.* Full UK driving licence (maximum 6 points).* Proactive, organised, and able to prioritise effectively in a fast-paced engineering environment.* Willingness to continue developing skills through training and manufacturer courses.* Must be able to pass a PCV medical (we will upgrade your licence to PCV!)## ## **What Arriva can offer you*** **£24 per hour*** **38.5 hours per week – Monday to Friday*** High-quality training & development including: + EV / High Voltage Levels 1–4 + IRTEC accreditation + Diagnostics, roadside assistance & OEM training* Free bus travel for you **and** a nominated family member* Support to gain your **PCV licence*** Arriva Village – retail & lifestyle discounts worth up to £1,200 per year* Arriva Wellbeing Support* 20 days’ holiday + bank holidays (rising to 25 after 5 years)* Workplace Pension* Full PPE and workwear provided## Join a supportive team, work with modern technology, and help keep West Yorkshire moving.**Apply now to become the Master Technician at Arriva Heckmondwike.** #J-18808-Ljbffr
