Engineering Technician

An excellent and rewarding job opportunity has arisen for an experienced and ambitious individual to join our garage in Durham as a Shift Fitter reporting directly to the Engineering Manager, whilst maintaining the fleet of PCV vehicles.

The role will involve:

• Servicing and repairs to Arriva and DVSA standards.
• Continuous improvement of vehicle standards.
• MOT preparation.
• Vehicle fault diagnosis and ensuring reliability and maintenance is kept to Arriva Standards (Higher than DVSA).
• Shifts are 5 over 7 Sunday to Saturday, shifts between 05.00 and 17.30.

Requirements:

• Knowledge of PSV/HGV maintenance with recognised qualifications (E.G level 3 NVQ).
• Can work safely and unsupervised to pre-set standards and guidelines.
• Electrical knowledge is desirable but not necessary.
• A PCV license is desirable but not necessary.
• Inspection of vehicles for the scheduled maintenance (training can be provided) with IRTEC accreditation favourable.
• 39 Hours per week – shifts to be discussed at interview.
• Overtime available at enhanced rate 1.5 x hourly rate.
