Shift times: 07:30 - 16:00 but must be flexible with covering AM, PM and Evening shifts as and when required.

Arriva is one of the UK's leading passenger transport operators and we are looking for an experienced PSV Master Technician to join our Midlands Engineering Team. This is a specialist role for a highly skilled technician with extensive experience in diagnostics, fault finding, and complex vehicle repairs. Working across multiple Midlands depots, you'll provide technical expertise that helps keep our fleet safe, reliable, and available for service.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Diagnosing and resolving complex mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and electronic faults on modern PSV fleets.
- Carrying out advanced repairs, component replacements, and vehicle overhauls to manufacturer and company standards.
- Supporting engineering teams with specialist technical investigations and fault resolution.
- Performing preventative maintenance inspections and identifying opportunities to improve fleet reliability.
- Using advanced diagnostic software and equipment to analyse and rectify vehicle defects.
- Providing technical guidance and mentoring to technicians and apprentices.
- Maintaining accurate maintenance records and ensuring compliance with all engineering procedures.
- Supporting continuous improvement initiatives across the engineering function.
- Ensuring full compliance with health and safety requirements and DVSA regulations.
What We’re Looking For
- Proven experience as a PSV Master Technician, Senior Technician, or equivalent heavy vehicle engineering role.
- NVQ Level 3 in Heavy Vehicle Maintenance and Repair (or equivalent recognised qualification).
- Advanced knowledge of PSV systems, diagnostics, electrical systems, engines, transmissions, and braking systems.
- Experience using modern diagnostic equipment and software.
- Strong understanding of DVSA compliance and vehicle roadworthiness requirements.
- Excellent fault‑finding, problem‑solving, and communication skills.
- Full UK driving licence (PCV licence advantageous).
- Willingness to travel across Midlands depots as required.
