The BI Developer role supports the delivery of high-quality dashboards, reports, and self-service analytics that enable data-driven decision making across the organisation. Reporting to the Lead BI Developer, the role focuses on translating business requirements into clear, intuitive visualisation, UX, and storytelling principles. The BI Developer collaborates closely with the Engineers, Analysts and Business Stakeholders to ensure data accuracy, consistency, and usability, supports the automation of manual reporting, and enables self-service analytics adoption.
The role requires a blend of technical skills, analytical thinking, business understanding and effective communication, with an emphasis on continuous learning, documentation and adherence to quality standards while progressively increasing ownership and impact as experience grows. We offer hybrid working. This role can be based in either our London, Sunderland or Thurmaston office, with a minimum of three days per week on-site. The remaining time can be spent working wherever you can best deliver for your customers, while still maintaining a healthy work–life balance.
Direct responsibilities:- BI Development (Power BI exposure beneficial).
- Strong understanding of dashboard and reporting development principles.
- Knowledge of data visualisation best practices, including chart selection, visual hierarchy, and usability.
- Working knowledge of SQL to query data for reporting and analysis.
- Experience or growing capability in self-service BI enablement.
- Ability to communicate insights clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Strong attention to detail, curiosity, and a continuous improvement mindset.
- Experience working in a collaborative BI or data team environment.
- Exposure to or interest in Python, HTML, CSS, or JavaScript to support analytics, automation, or dashboard customisation.
