The ESG Support Officer provides hands-on support, coordination, and implementation of ESG-related initiatives, ensuring alignment with regulatory requirements and internal objectives. Your role will be pivotal in bringing structure to the ESG office and assisting in the smooth execution of projects and tasks across the business units.
- Supporting the ESG Team: Provide administrative and project management support to the ESG Director, Compliance/Reporting Lead, Data Lead, and Impact Lead. Assist in organizing and preparing for meetings, including the ESG Steering Committee and Arriva Management Board (AMB), and when needed take minutes to ensure accurate documentation and follow-up on action items.
- Project Coordination: Collaborate with the ESG team to coordinate and support the implementation of ESG-related regulations and initiatives across the Group. Assist in the rollout of ESG frameworks and systems, including software implementation to meet Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD) obligations.
- Stakeholder Support: Act as a point of contact for business units, providing guidance and support on ESG-related matters. Help train local teams and ensure clear, timely communication of requirements and updates. Gather and share best practices across the Group, fostering a collaborative approach to ESG.
- Data and Reporting: Support the development and implementation of ESG data strategies, ensuring data governance and effective reporting systems. Assist in reviewing and standardizing ESG data collection and reporting processes across the Group.
- Documentation and Communication: Prepare and distribute reports, presentations, and other documentation related to ESG projects. Maintain up-to-date records of ESG activities, ensuring consistency and accuracy in reporting.
- Continuous Improvement: Help build internal expertise by supporting the development of training materials and resources. Work closely with external consultants and internal stakeholders to enhance Arriva's ESG capabilities and readiness for future requirements.
Knowledge, skills and experience: We're looking for candidates with passion for sustainability and ESG, with commitment to personal growth in this field and prior experience in project management or administrative support, ideally within a corporate or ESG-focused environment. Preferably, you will also hold a bachelor's degree in environmental science, Sustainability, Business Administration or a relevant field. Familiarity with ESG regulations and reporting frameworks such as CSRD, SECR, TCFD, IFRS S1, and IFRS S2 is advantageous.
