We invest heavily in our people, our fleets, and the future of transport. We are now seeking an experienced Engineering Chargehand to join our team at Hemel Hempstead depot. This is a key leadership position, combining hands-on engineering expertise with responsibility for supporting, guiding, and developing a skilled team of technicians, ensuring our fleet remains safe, compliant, and fully serviceable.
What We Offer
- £***** per hour basic rate
- Overtime paid at £***** per hour (time and a half)
- Full-time, permanent contract
- 5 out of 7 working pattern
- Initial Monday to Friday shifts, operating between 05:00 and 01:30, on a rotating early and late shift pattern
- Free bus travel for you and a nominated person on Arriva services

The Role
You will play a vital role in the day-to-day performance of the depot by leading engineering activity and ensuring all maintenance and repair work is completed safely, efficiently, and to the highest standards. Key responsibilities include:
- Leading, supporting, and motivating a team of engineers and fitters
- Carrying out diagnostics, inspections, and repairs on PCV vehicles
- Allocating work and monitoring performance against safety, quality, and service targets
- Ensuring full compliance with DVSA, Health
