About the role
As a Bus Driver, you will get to know familiar faces on your routes, build relationships and even be the highlight of someone’s day. Did you know that Bus Drivers are one of the most thanked jobs in the UK?
Pay
£12.96 – £19.51 per hour.
- During training (first 4-6 weeks): £12.96 per hour.
- After training – weekdays: £13.25 per hour (first 7 months) rising to £17.75 per hour from 8 months.
- Saturday/Sunday and after 8pm: uplift of £1.00 per hour.
- Overtime: £14.58 per hour (first 7 months) rising to £19.51 per hour from 8 months.
Training & Development
- Full paid training to obtain PCV licence at Arriva Training School (≈4 weeks).
- Mentor support for further weeks.
- Ongoing CPC training.
- Career progression opportunities into management, support training, or expert driving.
Hours of Work
- 5 out of 7 rotating shift patterns, planned 6–8 weeks in advance.
- Mornings from 04:00, afternoons from 12:00, evenings from 18:00 on a rotational basis.
- Overtime available on request/availability.
Requirements
- Over 18 years of age.
- Minimum 6 months of driving experience.
- No more than 6 points on your licence.
- Ability to pass a drug and alcohol test.
- Great people and customer service skills.
- Flexibility to work shift patterns.
