Our Group Treasury function plays a vital role in ensuring financial stability, managing risk, and supporting our operating companies. We are now looking for a Treasury Finance Manager to join our team in Sunderland. This is a fantastic opportunity to take a leading role in liquidity management while contributing to key treasury initiatives and transformation projects.
The Role
Reporting to the Senior Treasury Manager, you will be responsible for managing the Group’s liquidity position, supporting intercompany funding activities, and providing insightful analysis on cash flow and capital expenditure. Operating within Arriva’s In-House Bank (IHB), you’ll play a key role in optimising treasury processes, supporting system developments, and ensuring strong financial control across all treasury activities.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the day-to-day liquidity of the Group, including cash pooling and currency positioning
- Oversee intercompany loans and deposits, ensuring efficient funding across the business
- Consolidate and analyse 13-week cash flow forecasts (13WCF), identifying trends and variances
- Monitor and track capital expenditure funding against budget and business plans
- Manage UK payment processes (including BACS, payroll, and treasury payments) and lead migration into the Treasury Management System (TMS)
- Support the transition to SWIFT ISO standards and ongoing TMS development
- Work closely with operating companies to understand and manage funding requirements
- Collaborate on FX, interest rate, and fuel hedging activities, including documentation, accounting treatment, and effectiveness testing
- Drive process improvements and contribute to the development of treasury policies and procedures, including a TMS operational manual
- Support integration of treasury systems with Oracle Fusion to enable straight-through processing and reporting
- Deliver accurate and timely treasury reporting and provide actionable insights to leadership
- Ensure compliance with treasury policies and regulatory requirements
Qualifications
- Degree in Finance, Accounting or a related discipline
- Studying towards or qualified in a recognised treasury or accounting qualification (e.g. AMCT, CIMA, ACCA, ACA)
Experience
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in treasury within a multinational organisation
- Strong experience in liquidity management, forecasting, modelling, and treasury accounting
- Experience within FP&A or investment appraisal is advantageous
Skills & Knowledge
- Strong analytical skills with excellent attention to detail
- Advanced Excel and financial modelling capability
- Experience using Treasury Management Systems (TMS) – essential
- Knowledge of ION Reval or similar systems is desirable
- Highly organised with strong prioritisation skills
- Confident communicator with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels
- Proactive, adaptable, and focused on continuous improvement
