Through buses, trains, coaches, trams, waterbuses, bike‑sharing systems, on‑demand transport solutions and a rolling stock leasing business, we proudly connect people and communities safely, reliably and sustainably across 11 countries. Our purpose is simple: to deliver these services in a better way, every day.

We are seeking a Product Owner – Customer & Commercial to join our Product team, playing a key role in shaping and delivering digital and technology‑driven solutions that enhance customer experience and commercial performance across the Group. This is a high‑impact role at the intersection of business and technology, focused on translating customer and commercial priorities into clear, actionable requirements for delivery teams.

You’ll take ownership of the product backlog, ensuring it reflects business priorities, customer needs and technical feasibility, while working closely with stakeholders across the organisation to deliver solutions that drive measurable value. This role will be on a hybrid working basis, a minimum of 3 days per week from either our London (Lacon) or Sunderland (Doxford) office, with the remainder focused on where you can best deliver for your colleagues while maintaining a healthy work‑life balance.

Key Responsibilities
  • Translating product vision and business objectives into well‑defined user stories and acceptance criteria
  • Owning and maintaining a prioritised product backlog, ensuring alignment with customer needs and commercial goals
  • Working closely with delivery teams throughout the development lifecycle, providing clarity and guidance to enable successful delivery
  • Participating in agile ceremonies, monitoring progress and proactively identifying and resolving risks or blockers
  • Collaborating with business units, support teams, IT partners and platform teams to validate requirements and manage dependencies
  • Engaging with stakeholders across customer, commercial, marketing and operational functions to capture feedback and align on priorities
  • Ensuring solutions are scalable, secure and aligned with platform and architectural standards
  • Monitoring product performance post‑launch, using data and insights to inform continuous improvement and future development

You will contribute to a diverse portfolio spanning customer experience, ticketing and retail, CRM and sales, revenue management, marketing and digital, and accessibility and inclusion – supporting the delivery of solutions that have a direct impact on both customers and the business.

What We Are Looking For

We are looking for a collaborative and commercially aware Product Owner with experience delivering digital or technology products in a complex organisation.

You Will Bring
  • Experience managing product backlogs and translating business needs into actionable delivery requirements
  • A strong understanding of agile ways of working and experience operating within cross‑functional delivery teams
  • The ability to engage and influence a broad range of stakeholders, translating between technical and non‑technical audiences
  • Strong organisational and prioritisation skills, with the ability to balance competing demands in a dynamic environment
  • A data‑driven mindset, using insights and performance metrics to inform decisions and drive improvements
  • A proactive and adaptable approach, with the confidence to operate in an evolving and sometimes ambiguous environment

You’ll be someone who enjoys working at the intersection of business and technology, with a natural curiosity for how digital solutions can improve customer outcomes and commercial performance. With a structured and collaborative approach, you’ll be confident taking ownership of delivery and guiding work from concept through to implementation. Thriving in a fast‑paced environment, you’ll build strong relationships across the organisation and bring clarity to complex challenges, ensuring that priorities remain aligned to delivering real value.

This role offers the opportunity to influence a broad and evolving portfolio of customer and commercial products across a major European organisation. You’ll work closely with stakeholders at all levels, contributing to solutions that improve customer experience, drive commercial outcomes and support Arriva’s wider transformation journey.

If you enjoy translating ideas into impactful products and want to play a key role in shaping digital capability across a complex, international business, this is an exciting opportunity to develop your career within Arriva.
