The Opportunity
We’re looking for an experienced IT Project Manager who is passionate about technology and thrives on leading complex, high-impact projects from strategy and vision through to successful delivery and transition into business-as-usual operation. This role will take a leading position in delivering a major migration project from our current digital app and web supplier, ensuring a seamless transition, minimal disruption to customers, and maximum business value. You’ll join a high-performing, cross-functional team that includes Product Owners, Designers, Testers, and operational experts, working collaboratively to deliver projects that enhance Arriva’s digital platforms and customer experience.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Lead and manage the UK Bus Digital App migration project through all phases of the project lifecycle.
- Define, develop, and maintain detailed project plans, schedules, and budgets using appropriate tools and techniques.
- Proactively manage project risks and issues, developing mitigation and contingency strategies.
- Ensure delivery against agreed scope, time, cost, and quality objectives while achieving benefits realisation targets.
- Produce clear and regular progress reports for senior stakeholders.
- Build trusted relationships with internal and external stakeholders, managing expectations and ensuring effective communication at all levels.
- Drive continuous improvement, identifying opportunities to enhance processes and delivery capability.
- Ensure formal project closure and post-implementation reviews are completed effectively.
What We’re Looking For
- A proven track record of successfully delivering end-to-end technology projects or programmes.
- Strong understanding of the software development lifecycle and experience managing third-party integrations.
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to influence at all organisational levels.
- Experience using project management tools such as Monday.com, Jira, or Asana.
- Familiarity with both Waterfall and Agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban).
- A passion for driving change and process improvement.
- Prince2, APM, or equivalent project management qualification (desirable).
- Resilience under pressure, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines.
