We are seeking a Communications Manager to join our Corporate Communications team. Working across internal and external communication, this role requires a proactive, energetic communicator with an understanding of audiences and multichannel content development and delivery who is comfortable in a busy and fastâmoving environment. You will work crossâfunctionally with teams across the business to ensure consistent, timely, and effective communications. This role will be based from either the London or Sunderland office.
Direct Responsibilities- Identify and develop stories that resonate with key stakeholders and audiences and tell the Arriva story.
- Execute communications across corporate channels, including the intranet, internal newsletters, executive communications, email platforms, corporate social media, events, town halls, external website and media engagement.
- Support coâordination of communications activity working with communications teams across the Group, gathering information and managing a content planner.
- Create highâquality written, visual, and multimedia content that reflects the company's values, priorities, and voice.
- Partner with internal departments to create content for internal and external campaigns.
- Help ensure the smooth running of the team by supporting with the management of external agencies, the photo gallery and video library, the content calendar and other essential functions.
- Participate in the press office onâcall rota and development of daily news summaries.
- At least 2â3 years' experience in communications either inâhouse or in an agency.
- Excellent writing and storytelling skills.
- Good judgement and news sense.
- An understanding of reputation management principles.
- Understanding interest in internal communications tools (e.g., SharePoint, Staffbase, Viva Engage, Canva), video production and editing skills and an interest in emerging technologies.
- Project management and prioritisation skills; ability to manage multiple stakeholders and meet tight deadlines.
- Highly collaborative team player.
- Strong attention to detail and a positive attitude.
- Experience of working in a fastâmoving business.
