At Arriva, you’ll be at the heart of your community, helping commuters get to work, children to school, and neighbours to the shops. Whether you’re an experienced PCV Driver or looking to start a new career as a Trainee Bus Driver, we have a role for you.

Pay Rates

  • Trainee Driver – £15.07 per hour (3 weeks)
  • Monday to Friday – £15.07 per hour (rising to £18.30 after 12 months)
  • Saturday & Sunday – £18.84 per hour (Rising to £22.88 per hour after 12 months)
  • Bank Holiday – £22.60 (Rising to £27.45 per hour after 12 months)
  • Overtime – Flat rate

Shift Patterns

  • 5 out of 7 rotating shift patterns, planned 6–8 weeks in advance.
  • Mornings starting from 04:00, afternoons from 12:00 and evenings from 18:00 on a rotational basis.
  • No fixed early, afternoon or evening shifts separately.
  • Overtime available at request / availability.

Responsibilities

  • Build relationships with regular passengers and provide a friendly face.
  • Ensure safe and timely transport, keeping passengers informed and comfortable.
  • Execute shift patterns responsibly, including handling overtime when required.

Requirements

  • Be over 18 years old with at least 12 months of driving experience.
  • Hold a valid UK driving licence with no more than 6 penalty points.
  • Pass a drug and alcohol test.
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills.
