About Us

Our Rail Services division supports Grand Central (GC), an open access train operator linking the North East and West Yorkshire with London, Arriva TrainCare (ATC), a growing train maintenance company, Arriva Road Transport Services (ARTS), the rail replacement operator within the Arriva Group and more recently we welcomed RTS Infrastructure (RTS), a specialist provider of rail depot and infrastructure services, offering end‑to‑end solutions from design and construction to maintenance, stabling and rolling stock servicing.

The Role

We are seeking a passionate and strategic Inclusion & Engagement Partner to lead and embed inclusive practices across our Rail Services division. This specialist role is designed to strengthen the employee experience through leadership of inclusion, engagement and benefits initiatives. You’ll shape impactful programmes, build meaningful partnerships, and use insight to drive measurable change.

What You’ll Do

  • Lead the design and delivery of a clear engagement and inclusion strategy across Rail Services.
  • Build internal networks and sponsor new EDI initiatives.
  • Strengthen external partnerships with EDI organisations and lead the introduction and roll out of Employee Resource Groups.
  • Own all engagement initiatives, driving consistency, innovation, and measurable outcomes.
  • Manage the full employee survey cycle, from planning and launch to analysis and action tracking.
  • Partner with Talent Acquisition to embed EDI principles into attraction, recruitment, and onboarding.
  • Use workforce insights and data to identify opportunities and risks, recommending inclusive initiatives.
  • Represent Arriva Rail Services at community and recruitment events to strengthen our employer brand.
  • Facilitate workshops, focus groups, and feedback sessions to enhance employee experience.
  • Monitor market trends and best practices in engagement, inclusion, and benefits.

What You Bring

The successful candidate will bring proven experience in employee engagement, diversity and inclusion, or related HR disciplines, along with strong project management and stakeholder engagement skills. They will be adept at interpreting data and translating insights into action, and will demonstrate excellent facilitation and communication abilities.

A strategic thinker with a hands‑on approach to delivery, they will thrive in a fast‑paced and evolving environment, showing resilience, adaptability, and creativity.

A high level of personal integrity and a commitment to building inclusive workplaces are essential.

Experience working in a multi‑site unionised environment is a plus. Experience with survey platforms and HR data tools is desirable too.
