The Role
Working at our Tyne Yard depot, this is a development role that will enable through a detailed progression plan, your ability to fulfil the Service Assistant role.
What You’ll Do
- Carry out tasks to deliver customer requirements in accordance with laid down operating instructions. Tasks will include
- Fuelling of traction units
- Filling toilet water tanks and emptying effluent tanks
- Filling wholesome water tanks
- Replenishment of coolants, oils, sanding systems and screenwash
- Topping up of other ontrain systems, as instructed by your line manager
- Stand In for the role of Operations Controller as and when required
- Carry out activities in accordance with documented instructions
- Ensure all documentation/ paperwork issued is correct and fully completed
- Carry out Environmental and Chlorination tasks
What You Bring
- Qualifications – qualification in Engineering is desirable
- Experience – previous experience, involvement and understanding of rail vehicle maintenance activities
- Knowledge – good understanding of depot operations or health and safety requirements
- Skills – strong communication skills couple with a good standard of education
