About the Role
As a Station Customer Service Assistant you will be responsible for providing a highly visible great customer experience at Eaglescliffe station ensuring the safety and security of station users. Duties will consist of offering a range of rail ticket products, supporting travel information, customer assistance including those with mobility impairments and station presentation duties.
What You’ll Do
- Deliver a high level of customer service with focus on Grand Central’s Brand Drivers
- Provide a highly visible station presence including, where appropriate, train side attendance for Grand Central arrivals and departures
- Retail the full range of rail tickets
- Process refunds as appropriate
- Provide customer support and information during periods of disruption
- Maintain a safe and tidy environment, ensuring the station is clean, safe and secure at all times.
- Where required, account for continuity stock and associated sales and administration returns.
- Assist customers with luggage and those that have mobility impairments.
What You Bring
- Flexibility – shift patterns of the role is on a rota basis which covers a 7 day operation with earliest starts from 07:00 and latest finish 17:30
- Customer Service – you will be a great face to face communicator with previous experience working within a busy customer service environment
- Proactive – you have experience working on your own with the ability to stay calm under pressure whilst maintaining safety at all times
- Problem Solver – You can tackle any challenge with a smile and find solutions when things get tricky.
- Although not essential good geographical knowledge of the passenger railway would be beneficial
- Meet industry medical requirements for the role
