Here’s What You’ll Be Doing

Working Monday to Friday 08:30 – 16:00 you’ll be part of this exciting team through learning of the heavy maintenance overhauls and light maintenance for rolling stock. You’ll work alongside experienced engineers, gaining the skills and confidence.

What You’ll Get Involved In

You will embark on an exciting learning journey, gaining experience in the heavy maintenance overhaul of rolling stock, alongside electrical and mechanical light maintenance activities. Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Collaborating closely with the Team Leader to execute a variety of tasks, gaining valuable skills under expert supervision.
  • Upholding the highest safety standards by strictly following Vehicle Maintenance Instructions and local procedures, ensuring a secure work environment.
  • Diligently using Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) in accordance with safety regulations to maintain a culture of safety and professionalism.

Your Journey to Becoming an Engineer

Over the next 4 years you will work towards a Level 3 NVQ qualification in Rail Engineering – Traction and Rolling Stock whilst gaining the experience for a successful career. You’ll get the chance to learn, grow, and be part of something bigger than just a job. Due to the requirements of the role you will attend college in a block release period therefore there will be a requirement to spend time away from home in Crewe whilst at college.

What We’re Looking For

  • A minimum of 4 GCSEs, graded A-C or 9-4, including Mathematics, English, and Science, is required.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Excel, with a demonstrated ability to use these tools effectively.
  • A genuine passion for rail engineering and a curiosity to learn.
  • A drive to do things the right way, following safety and quality standards.
  • A team player who wants to collaborate with others.
