Bus Drivers – Merseyside role at Arriva Group
We are hiring experienced and Trainee Bus Drivers in Bootle. As a Bus Driver with Arriva, you will be at the heart of your community, helping commuters get to work, assist customers with errands, and get children to school. You will meet familiar faces on your routes, build relationships, and contribute to a service that connects customers to what matters to them. Salary by role and location
- Merseyside Trainees (Bootle, Greenlane, St Helens, Runcorn, Speke, Southport, Birkenhead):
- Monday to Friday – £14.52 per hour (rising to £17.63 after 12 months)
- Saturday & Sunday – £18.15 per hour (rising to £22.04 per hour after 12 months)
- Bank Holiday – £21.88 (rising to £26.45 per hour after 12 months)
- Overtime: Flat rate
- Experienced PCV (Bootle, Greenlane, St Helens, Runcorn, Speke, Southport, Birkenhead):
- Monday to Friday: £17.63 per hour
- Saturday & Sunday: £22.40 per hour
- Bank Holiday: £26.45 per hour
- Overtime: Flat rate

Work Hours
- 5 out of 7 rotating shift patterns, planned up to 6-8 weeks in advance so you can plan around shifts
- Mornings starting from 04:00, Afternoons from 12:00, Evenings from 18:00 on a rotating basis
- Fixed early, afternoon, or evenings are not available
- Overtime available on request/availability
Requirements
- Experienced Drivers: Hold a valid PCV license
- Trainees: No license needed—we provide all training
- Have at least 12 months driving experience with no more than 6 points on your licence
- Pass a drug/alcohol test, be flexible for shifts, and customer service oriented
