Are you a skilled engineer looking for a fulfilling career with a leading transport provider? Arriva is seeking a dedicated Multiskilled Shift Engineer (PSV Mechanic) to join our team. This is a fantastic opportunity to play a key role in maintaining and servicing our modern fleet of North East buses.
Your Role:
As a Multiskilled Engineer, you\’ll be responsible for delivering high-quality maintenance, repairs, and diagnostics to our commercial bus fleet—meeting the strict standards of both Arriva and the DVSA (Driver & Vehicle Standards Agency).

Key Responsibilities:
Conduct inspections, maintenance, and repairs to Arriva and DVSA standards
Improve vehicle reliability through proactive and reactive servicing
Perform MOT prep, preventative maintenance, and quality assurance checks
Carry out diagnostic fault finding and implement lasting repairs
Work a variety of shift patterns – speak with us about options that suit your lifestyle
What We’re Looking For:
NVQ Level 2 or higher in PSV, HGV, or (or equivalent international qualification – subject to verification)
OR at least 5 years\’ relevant hands-on experience in vehicle repair and maintenance within HGV/PSV
Full UK driving licence (maximum 6 penalty points)
Fit to pass a PCV pre-employment medical
