Responsible for the maintenance, fault resolution, and performance of Arqiva's broadcast transmission sites across North Scotland. The role supports television, radio, RF, telecoms and network infrastructure, ensuring high service availability and regulatory compliance whilst delivering excellent customer service.

Location: North Scotland – Inverness and surrounding areas (candidates must live within a 40-mile radius of Inverness).

Accountabilities:

  • Responding to network faults and service outages, ensuring service level agreements are met
  • Carrying out planned preventative maintenance across transmission and broadcast sites
  • Diagnosing and resolving faults on RF and communications systems
  • Supporting equipment upgrades, installations and network improvements
  • Conducting testing, measurements and system inspections
  • Maintaining accurate engineering documentation and maintenance records
  • Working closely with customers, contractors and internal teams
  • Supervising contractors and ensuring safe working practices are followed
  • Participating in a 24/7 on-call rota and responding to incidents as required
  • Working safely at all times and complying with Health & Safety legislation, policies and procedures
  • Working at height, including climbing transmission structures of up to 60 meters as part of maintenance and fault response activities
  • Being available to work flexibly across the region, including occasional working away from home and supporting project work both within and outside your local area
  • Working independently and collaboratively as part of a wider engineering team to deliver excellent service and network performance
  • Supporting continuous improvement initiatives and embracing new technologies and ways of working

What we're looking for:

Essential:

  • Experience in maintenance, fault-finding and troubleshooting of technical systems
  • Electrical, electronic, RF or telecommunications engineering background
  • Strong problem-solving and diagnostic skills
  • Full UK driving licence
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Willingness to participate in an on-call rota
  • Comfortable working at height and climbing structures up to 60 meters
  • Commitment to safe working practices

Desirable:

  • HNC, Level 4 qualification or equivalent technical experience
  • Experience with RF transmission systems
  • Broadcast, telecommunications or network infrastructure experience
  • Knowledge of digital television, radio or telecommunications systems
  • Understanding of IP networking principles
  • Experience working with telemetry, monitoring or control systems
  • Previous field engineering experience
