Sales Planning and Operations Specialist
Overview
Act as a strategic partner to sales leadership, shaping and embedding the sales operating model, planning frameworks, and performance management approach required to deliver Arqiva’s commercial strategy. The role provides insight-led challenge, strategic analysis and forward-looking planning to optimise sales effectiveness, resource deployment and long‑term growth outcomes.

What You’ll Be Working On
- Shape and own the strategic sales planning framework, ensuring alignment between corporate strategy, commercial priorities, and sales execution.
- Lead the development of medium‑ and long‑term sales forecasts, scenarios, and plans to inform investment decisions, capacity planning and target setting.
- Provide strategic insight and decision support to sales and commercial leadership through advanced performance analysis, scenario modelling and forward‑looking metrics.
- Act as a trusted advisor to sales leadership on sales strategy, operating model design, territory and account planning and go‑to‑market effectiveness.
- Define and embed a clear performance management approach, including KPIs, dashboards and governance rhythms that drive accountability and focus on value creation.
- Lead continuous improvement of sales processes, systems and ways of working to support scalable growth and increased commercial effectiveness.
- Set strategic direction for CRM and sales tools, ensuring they enable high‑quality decision‑making, pipeline transparency and consistent sales discipline.
- Drive prioritisation of customer segments, target accounts and opportunities in line with strategic objectives and resource constraints.
- Ensure strong strategic alignment across sales, marketing, finance and operations on planning assumptions, demand outlook and execution priorities.
- Identify and assess emerging trends, risks and opportunities within the sales environment, translating insight into actionable recommendations.
- Act as the centre of excellence for sales planning and operations, embedding best practice, standards, and capability development across the sales function.
- Lead and manage strategic relationships with external partners, suppliers and industry peers relevant to sales operations and planning capability.

- Deep understanding of sales operating models, planning cycles, forecasting methodologies and performance governance.
- Commercial & financial acumen – ability to link sales performance, pipeline dynamics and resource allocation to financial outcomes and strategic value creation.
- Advanced analytical capability including scenario modelling, trend analysis and performance insight.
- Influencing and stakeholder management – ability to operate with credibility at senior levels, providing constructive challenge and influencing strategic decisions.
- Strong understanding of CRM strategy, data quality and information architecture to support strategic decision‑making.
- Proven ability to design and embed new ways of working, driving adoption and sustained improvement.
- Communication – ability to translate complex analysis into clear, compelling strategic narratives for senior audiences.
Knowledge & Experience
- Significant experience in sales planning, sales operations, commercial strategy, or a closely related role within a complex organisation.
- Demonstrable track record of influencing sales strategy, operating models or performance outcomes through insight‑led analysis and planning.
- Experience working with senior stakeholders to shape strategic decisions and drive organisational change.
Qualifications
A degree (or equivalent experience) in business, sales, or a related field is advantageous.
