The predicted salary is between 36000 - 60000 £ per year.

Location:We operate a flexible, hybrid working environment with the candidate required to travel to their closest Arqiva office, either Winchester, Daventry, Chalfont or Emley Moor once or twice a week.

The Role

  • Complete planned works and maintenance on a full range of systems and networks within an operational environment. Carrying out project initiatives. Respond to faults and service outages and complete corrective maintenance in line with Arqiva standards, policies and procedures
  • Contribute to the delivery of projects through the provision of technical advice, installation and commissioning support and service transition. Implement upgrades and modifications to existing systems and networks
  • Provide full lifecycle management of network devices including reviewing and implementing network upgrades and decommissioning tasks.
  • Maintain accurate records, documents and reporting of actions taken. Complete testing and measurements to ensure compliance with regulatory, industry and customer requirements
  • Work with the Network Engineering team to ensure that network solutions are transitioned into the live environment without issue and in line with all service requirements
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of operating policies, processes and procedures. Engage with customers and build positive working relationships. Supervise the delivery of 3rd party suppliers and contractors to ensure that specifications and standards meet Arqiva requirements
  • Drive innovation, both small and large, into and through the business; deploy and evidence with outcomes, a continuous improvement (CI) mind-set. Bring a commercial perspective to the operation, with a particular focus on cash management, cash preservation and optimising returns on investments made in assets and tools.
  • Understanding and experience with Datacentre & Cloud technologies.
  • Understanding and experience with Network Automation and scripting

The Person

Qualifications:

  • Degree (preferable) or Higher-Level Apprenticeship in Computing/Electronics/Communication Systems or significant industry experience in one or more of the required Expertise/Technical/Professional Skills areas.

Required Expertise:

  • Track record of working on and troubleshooting complex, always on critical IP Networks
  • The ability to collaborate across multiple teams remotely and from on premises across multiple locations
  • Ability to undertake continuous personal development to meet the technical requirements of future technologies and project deliverables.
  • Working knowledge of the design, development and testing of bespoke and COTS (Common off the Shelf) software/hardware for Broadcast, IP Network, IOT or Enterprise application depending on technical area of expertise.
  • Experience with processes, standards and engineering practices related to monitoring and controlling (M&C).

Required Technical / Professional Skillset(s):

  • Experienced in troubleshooting large scale & complex Enterprise & Datacentre networks
  • Cisco Enterprise Routing & Switching experience and troubleshooting - WAN Edge, Access Switches, Wireless Access Points, Connected devices
  • Experienced in Data Centre network technologies and troubleshooting, including Wireless controller, ACI, F5 & Cloud technologies.
  • Good knowledge of Cisco devices including NX-OS, knowledge of IOS
  • Good understanding of the network security associated with DC and Enterprise networking
