We’re looking for a skilled Electrical Engineer / Time‑served Electrician to join our Power & Environment team, supporting critical broadcast and smart utility infrastructure across the North East. If you have strong electrical maintenance experience, a full UK driving licence, and want a role with variety, autonomy and development—this could be your next step.

What you’ll do

  • Respond to electrical faults and carry out corrective maintenance across a range of power systems.
  • Perform planned preventative maintenance in line with safety, quality and engineering standards.
  • Support system upgrades, installations and modification work.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and ensure compliance with BS7671 and Arqiva standards.
  • Build positive working relationships with customers and on‑site teams.
  • Supervise contractors to make sure work meets technical and safety requirements.
  • Take part in a 24/7 callout rota and work flexibly, including occasional travel outside the region.
  • Work independently at remote sites; training available to progress into tower climbing if desired.

What you’ll bring

  • Full UK driving licence (essential for site travel).
  • Time‑served Electrician (NVQ Level 3 + AM2).
  • 18th Edition (C&G 2382) or 17th edition.
  • C&G 2391, or 2394/2395 (Inspection & Testing).
  • Strong fault‑finding and diagnostics skills.
  • Ability to read electrical schematics and single‑line diagrams.
  • Experience with three‑phase systems, power equipment and safe electrical isolation.
  • Solid understanding of BS7671 and electrical safety legislation.
  • A proactive, safety‑first mindset and willingness to learn new transmission skills.
