About the Role
We’re looking for a Field Engineer to deliver first-line maintenance, fault resolution and planned works across our transmission network. You’ll support both day‑to‑day operational tasks and project delivery, ensuring high service availability for our customers. This is a field‑based role with regular travel across North Scotland.
What You’ll Do
- Carry out diagnostic testing, fault resolution and service restoration
- Complete planned maintenance across transmission and broadcast systems
- Support installation, commissioning and project activities
- Keep accurate engineering records and reports
- Maintain a safe and secure working environment
- Build strong working relationships with customers and contractors
- Deliver bundled activities to maximise efficiency
- Supervise third‑party contractors on-site
- Climb structures up to 60m for inspections/remedial works
- Participate in the 24/7 on‑call rota (as scheduled)
Skills & Experience Needed
- HND (or level 5 equivalent) or relevant practical experience
- Strong understanding of corrective and preventative maintenance
- Experienced in RF systems, DTT, DAB, analogue radio, microwave links, satellite systems, data networks or telecoms
- Confident in fault‑finding, troubleshooting and reporting
- Sound knowledge of power systems, environmental controls, telemetry and electronics
- Good understanding of Health & Safety standards
- Willingness to travel and occasionally work away from home
- Ability to support the development of new technologies and equipment
