We are building the financial system for the next century. One where control sits in the hands of customers — not banks. Where money moves on rails that are faster, smarter, and radically more efficient. Where wealth management tools help you grow your savings for decades — and build generational wealth. Where fewer intermediaries mean more value stays where it belongs: in our customers’ pockets.

We operate with long-term ambition and absolute conviction. We are not here to iterate on the past — we are here to redesign it. This is a defining moment to join us. We are building what we believe will become one of the most important financial institutions in the world. That requires exceptional talent, relentless standards, and people who care deeply about the work. At ARQ, we are turning the financial system upside down — starting in the Americas. We are nimble, but ambitious. We move fast, learn fast, and innovate relentlessly. Technology is our greatest ally, and execution is our edge. We build as a team. We think long term. We aim for world-class in everything we do. If you are exceptional at what you do — and ready to help redefine finance — we’d love to meet you. Are you ready to build what comes next?

About the team

We believe that small teams with the best talent outcompete massive companies with mediocre capabilities. That's why we have gathered a set of people who have done it before at iconic companies like Revolut, Uber, Amazon, Block and UBS: we owned some of the most loved and profitable products, delivered top-notch transaction processing platforms, created beautiful mobile applications - and helped them become profitable companies that changed the lives of millions of people.

In our quest to reshape the global financial system we have raised tens of millions of dollars from leading investors like Sequoia Capital, Founders Fund, Brevan Howard Digital, Y Combinator and Kaszek Ventures.

What We’re Looking For

We’re looking for a Mid Android Engineer who’s hungry to grow and excited to build high-quality mobile experiences for millions of users. You’ll be contributing clean, maintainable Kotlin code and helping us deliver polished mobile experiences as we scale. You’ll join our Core Product Team as we double the size of our mobile team, helping to build and scale the ARQ experience – from our flagship Android app to new product lines like Premium, Stock Trading, Support Chat, and other financial products on the roadmap. Our goal is to build the best fintech app in Latin America, and our mobile engineers play a key role in making that happen every day.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Build and ship high-quality Android features across a broad range of product areas, from Support Chat to Stock Trading.
  • Write clean, maintainable Kotlin code using modern Android tools and frameworks.
  • Collaborate closely with Product, Design, Backend, and other Mobile engineers to deliver features end-to-end.
  • Own features from implementation through to launch, making sure they are reliable, polished, and ready for production.
  • Contribute to app quality across performance, stability, error states, crash handling, and UX polish.
  • Participate in code reviews and help maintain strong engineering standards.
  • Learn quickly, take ownership, and grow your impact as the mobile team scales.

What You’ll Need

  • 2–4 years of professional experience in Android development, ideally building consumer-facing apps.
  • Strong proficiency in Kotlin and Android Studio.
  • Good understanding of Android fundamentals, including app lifecycle, networking, storage, permissions, and performance.
  • Familiarity with modern Android tools and frameworks such as Jetpack, Coroutines, and Compose.
  • Ability to write clean, maintainable code and follow professional software production routines.
  • Good understanding of app architecture and common patterns such as MVVM or MVI.
  • Strong product-quality mindset – you care about smooth UX, edge cases, device differences, reliability, and the overall user experience.
  • Ability to work independently, collaborate well with others, and learn quickly.
  • Good knowledge of Android from a user perspective – you know what makes an app feel intuitive, polished, and easy to use.

Why You’ll Love It Here

  • Hybrid setup
  • Sign-on stock options, so you own part of what you build
  • Discretionary performance bonus
  • The latest tools and technology
  • A growing mobile team with a high bar for product quality
  • A world-class team that will challenge and grow your skills
  • The opportunity to help build the best fintech app in Latin America
