General Work Times: 2am start time
Working Hours: 5/6 days 45 hours including 30 minutes unpaid break
General Responsibilities:
- Responsible for the timely delivery of chilled short shelf-life products (e.g., sandwiches, platters, wraps) to customers in Newry and within Northern Ireland.
- Perform daily inspections of the delivery vehicle before and after completing the route.
- Report any maintenance, repair issues, or part replacements, including tyres, to the supervisor.
- Load products at the depot/manufacturing facility and unload them at customer locations, ensuring all products are delivered in optimal condition.
- Maintain responsibility for the care and maintenance of the company delivery van.
- Keep accurate delivery logs and complete all required paperwork for each route.
- Adhere to Health & Safety regulations while in the warehouse, on the road, and at customers' premises, and ensure fitness to drive at all times.
- Delivery rounds will be allocated daily, and adherence to scheduled times is essential.
Key Relationships:
- Work closely with the Transport Supervisor to ensure accurate and timely deliveries.
- Communicate with warehouse staff and customers to ensure smooth and efficient delivery operations.
Experience & Requirements:
- Previous experience as a delivery driver is essential; food industry experience is preferred.
- A good understanding of the Newry area is required.
- A valid driving licence with no more than three points and the entitlement to drive up to a 3.5 tonne vehicle.
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently while following company protocols.
