We are looking for a motivated Public Sector Account Manager to join our team at ARO. You will work closely with public sector clients to understand their unique needs, enabling yourself to propose tailored technology solutions that improve service delivery and operational efficiency. Your expertise will cover a broad portfolio of IT services including cloud solutions, next-generation networking, cybersecurity, connectivity, managed services, and sustainable technologies designed for the public sector.
This position requires building strong relationships with key stakeholders, including local authorities, government departments, educational institutions, and healthcare organizations. The ideal candidate will have experience in public sector sales, a good understanding of public procurement processes, and the ability to navigate complex tendering activities. Success in this role requires a strategic mindset, excellent communication skills, and a commitment to fostering long-term partnerships with public sector clients.
Please note that this role will require attendance in our Cardiff office and will include consistent travel to client sites. You must be able to commute to the office and have your own transport. This is a Hybrid role with onsite requirement 3 days a week.
- Manage the full sales cycle from lead generation to contract negotiation and closing.
- Develop account plans that align with client needs.
- Efficiently gather requirements from prospective and current accounts to produce a solution that meets their needs.
- Develop long-term working relationships with prospective and existing customer accounts.
- Arrange and attend customer meetings with SME accounts regularly.
- Provide accurate and timely information, forecasts and reports to management.
- Maintain accurate records of customer interactions and account activity.
- Escalate risks, commercial concerns or service issues to management in a timely manner.
Proven experience in an account management role in IT solutions or technology is required, along with knowledge of IT solutions, trends and technology with a key focus on public sector requirements. Strong communication and interpersonal skills for client relationship building are essential, as well as a high level of computer literacy, including the use of cloud CRMs and internal IT systems. A full UK driving license and the ability to travel to sites on a regular basis are also necessary. Demonstrated success in managing complex sales cycles and tender processes, along with the ability to develop strategic account plans aligned with public sector needs, is expected.
