Salary: £36,000 + OTE

About the role

As an Account Manager, you will be responsible for driving growth within a portfolio of approximately 70 existing accounts while identifying and securing new opportunities for cyber security solutions. You will build strong executive-level relationships, develop account growth strategies, and guide customers through the full sales lifecycle. Working closely with internal specialists and partner vendors, you will position tailored solutions that address client challenges, maximise account value, and support ARO’s continued growth in the cyber security market.

Please note that this is a Hybrid role with onsite requirement 3 days a week. A full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle is required due to the nature of the role.

What you’ll do

  • Manage and grow a portfolio of approximately 70 customer accounts.
  • Identify and develop new opportunities within existing accounts to drive revenue growth.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with C-level executives and senior decision-makers.
  • Develop account plans and growth strategies to maximise customer value and long-term partnerships.
  • Lead the end-to-end sales process, from discovery and solution alignment through to negotiation and contract close.
  • Build and maintain a strong pipeline of opportunities through proactive account engagement, networking, and industry events.
  • Collaborate with sales engineers, solution architects, and cyber security specialists to design tailored customer solutions.
  • Understand customer challenges and align solutions using a consultative, problem-solving approach.
  • Achieve and exceed sales targets across ARO’s cyber security, managed services, and professional services portfolio.
  • Negotiate commercial terms, contract structures, and procurement processes with enterprise customers.
  • Act as a trusted advisor on cyber security strategy, risk management, and compliance.
  • Deliver business reviews, strategic presentations, and regular customer engagement meetings.
  • Work with wider ARO specialist teams to identify opportunities across Cloud, Infrastructure, Data Centre, Telecoms, Energy, and Managed Services.
  • Build strong relationships with vendor partners to align opportunities and support customer outcomes.
  • Represent ARO at industry events and conferences.
  • Share customer feedback, market intelligence, and competitive insights to support business and go-to-market strategy.

What we are looking for?

Essential

  • Proven experience in account management or a similar role in IT solutions or technology.
  • Experience of selling a wide portfolio of products and services, including cloud solutions, cyber security, and next-gen networking.
  • Demonstrable new business success.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills for client relationship building.
  • Ability to implement strategic plans and achieve business goals.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and CRM software.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Experience with high-profile clients and managing complex accounts.
  • Full UK driving licence and ability to travel on a regular basis.
  • Knowledge of IT solutions, trends, and technology.
  • High level of forecasting efficiency.
