Are you someone who takes pride in working hard, overlooking a small team for smooth operations? Do you enjoy physical, hands-on work where attention to detail really matters? We are looking for a Loading Supervisor to join our team and play a key role in ensuring our customers receive their orders complete, safe, and on time. In this hands-on role, you will be working in Distribution, responsible for carefully loading our delivery vehicles with the next day's orders, following clear guidelines to ensure every item is double-checked for quality and packed to prevent damage in transit.
Work shift: Monday–Friday 3:00 pm to 12:00 am
Principle Responsibilities:- Load vehicle with the relevant orders, and ensure that this is accurate to the vehicle manifest and delivery schedule.
- Ensure all vehicles are loaded in a safe manner and that the product loaded is protected from damage while in transit.
- Double check all loads for any inconsistencies.
- Maintain responsibility for the team, ensuring direction of staff and any agency as required.
- Note any damage that is spotted on products and rectify accordingly.
- Ensure everyone has signed in and are accounted for on the shift.
- Make premises secure and check all vehicles are locked and secured at end of the shift.
- Ensure the members in the team are following the correct process.
- Carry out and plan any training requirements for the team.
- Communicate with the office team with any issues and send out relevant and accurate loading issue log to relevant departments.
- Control & Monitor Health & Safety when loading ensuring training for individuals is in place and relevant Safe systems are developed and maintained so they are current and updated.
- Investigate any missing items from load and double check original locations.
- Ensure all team members are carrying out the correct and relevant tasks assigned to them.
- Investigate items that have been left in the warehouse.
- Picking and Packing of customer trim orders & sample orders.
- Blue Foaming of frames for customer deliveries.
- Loading Crates and Containers when required.
- Assisting customers with collections during the shift.
- Have skills to use computer systems, Microsoft Outlook, Excel and Word.
- Great attention to detail.
- Flexible, reliable and organised.
- Able to manage staff and organise cover for any sickness and shortages.
- Hands-on approach.
- Willingness to think outside the box and get involved even when outside the job description.
- Works well under pressure.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
