We are seeking dynamic, passionate Personal Support Workers (PSWs), who want to be part of the transformational change, providing resident-centered care in our long-term care home. As a PSW you will be part of a diverse, collaborative care team that will provide care and services to our residents with a focus on a plan of care and goals addressing their physical, cognitive, social, emotional, and spiritual needs.
An easy commute, our rural community hospital and long-term care home is located 30 minutes northwest of Ottawa.
Position: Personal Support Worker
Department: Nursing (Long Term Care)
Status: Temporary Part Time (0.3 FTE)
Hourly Rate: $26.69 – $29.31 per hour (Oct 9, 2024 wage)

Qualifications:
- Knowledge acquired through the successful completion of a recognized PSW program which meets the current standards of the Ontario Ministry of Health & Long-Term Care Act
- Working knowledge of Gentle Persuasive Approach (GPA) Behavioral Support Ontario (BSO) and a minimum of one-year experience in palliative
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- Current CPR
- Ability to understand, interpret and carry out the written and verbal instructions
- Ability to set priorities
- Ability to work collaboratively and effectively within a team
- Demonstrates the organization’s values of Honesty, Empathy, Accountability, Respect & Teamwork (HEART).
- Ability to perform duties and provide care in a manner that supports and complies with the Residents Bill of Rights
