We are looking to hire an Agricultural Legal Secretary.
Providing dedicated administrative and secretarial support to solicitors working on agricultural property, rural business, and related legal matters.
This is a full-time, on-site role based in Towcester.
Day-to-day responsibilities include preparing and formatting legal documents, managing case files, handling correspondence, and maintaining accurate records and databases.
The role also involves diary management, scheduling client meetings, coordinating with external professionals, and ensuring deadlines and compliance requirements are met.
The Legal Secretary will communicate professionally with clients and third parties, assist with billing and file opening/closing procedures, and contribute to the smooth running of the agricultural and rural business department.
- Strong grounding in Law and familiarity with agricultural, property, and rural business legal matters, or a demonstrable willingness to learn these areas.
- Proficiency in legal document preparation, including audio typing, drafting, formatting letters, forms, and other case-related documentation.
- Experience supporting legal assistants, solicitors, or legal teams, with an understanding of law firm processes, confidentiality, and file management.
- Excellent clerical skills, including typing accuracy, document organisation, record keeping, and use of legal case management and Microsoft Office software.
- Effective diary management skills, with the ability to prioritise tasks, manage multiple calendars, schedule appointments, and track key deadlines.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with a professional client-service mindset and attention to detail.
- Ability to work reliably on-site in Towcester, managing workload independently while collaborating with colleagues.
- Prior experience in a legal secretary or similar administrative role within a property department or professional services environment is essential.
