About this Role
Arnold Hill Spencer Academy is seeking to appoint a committed and enthusiastic Assistant Head of Year to join our dedicated pastoral team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone passionate about supporting young people and contributing to a positive school culture.
As a key member of our pastoral team, you will provide day‑to‑day support for students and work closely with the Head of Year to promote high standards of behaviour, attendance and wellbeing. Your role will be vital in ensuring our pupils feel safe, supported, and able to achieve their full potential.
The successful candidate will build strong and trusting relationships with students, parents, carers and staff. You will help foster a positive and inclusive environment where all pupils feel valued and encouraged to thrive.
If you are motivated, compassionate, and committed to making a difference in students' lives, we would be delighted to hear from you.
Arnold Hill Spencer Academy is a truly special place to learn and work. In June 2025, Ofsted rated the academy ‘Good’ in all areas and ‘Outstanding’ for Post‑16 provision. Our August GCSE results exceeded national averages for both attainment and progress, reflecting the dedication of our staff and the ambition of our students.
We are proud of our young people, whose behaviour, achievements, and character shine every day. Guided by our community ethos – “Be inspired and achieve together” – we provide daily opportunities for success, growth and collaboration. Respect, responsibility, and independence are at the heart of our values, helping students mature into confident, capable individuals. At Arnold Hill Spencer Academy, we believe in the potential of every student and nurture it within a caring, supportive environment where everyone can thrive.
Early application is strongly encouraged as we reserve the right to interview and close the advert ahead of the closing date.
