We are a group of professional services businesses operating across accountancy, advisory, insurance, and legal services. We work closely with entrepreneurs, business owners, high-net-worth individuals and private investors. Our approach is relationship-led, with growth driven by strong networks, trusted introductions, and long-term client partnerships.

We are looking for a Senior Business Development Manager to lead a newly formed in-house BD team and support the continued growth of the group. This is a highly external, relationship-focused role requiring regular interaction with clients, referrers, and the wider professional network.

You will work closely with Partners, Directors, and Managers to take a more proactive, structured and commercially focused approach to business development - identifying opportunities, converting them into new work and ensuring consistent follow-through. You will also recruit and lead a team of two junior BD professionals.

Key Responsibilities
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with introducers including lawyers, bankers, investors, and IFAs.
  • Proactively expand the firm's network through events, introductions and ongoing engagement.
  • Represent the firm at networking events, industry functions and professional groups.
  • Oversee the delivery of corporate brochures, business proposals and digital and social media content.
  • Arrange, coordinate and attend meetings on behalf of the group and Partners/Directors.
  • Identify opportunities and support their progression into new work.
  • Prepare briefing materials and maintain momentum through effective follow-up and tracking.
  • Work closely with Partners, Directors and Managers to support their BD activity.
  • Help prepare for meetings, pitches, and client interactions.
  • Identify cross-selling opportunities across service lines and encourage a more proactive commercial approach to BD.
  • Support the development and execution of BD strategies.
  • Maintain and monitor a strong pipeline, track opportunity progression and identify gaps.
  • Support the planning and delivery of events, seminars, and roundtables.
  • Collaborate with marketing to ensure campaigns generate meaningful engagement.
  • Track outcomes, follow-ups and ROI from BD activity.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of contacts, meetings and opportunities.
  • Track BD activity, pipeline progression and conversion rates.
  • Provide regular insight to Partners and Directors on activity and performance.
  • Provide guidance and oversight to junior team members.
  • Support the development of junior staff and build BD capability across the firm.
  • Review quality and consistency of output including research, CRM updates and event support.
  • Support the preparation of proposals, pitch materials and responses to opportunities.
  • Coordinate input from Partners and Directors to ensure high-quality outputs.
About You
  • 8+ years of experience in business development or professional services.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with confidence building relationships at senior level.
  • Commercially aware, proactive, and opportunity-focused.
  • Highly organised with strong follow-through across multiple priorities.
  • Track record of developing and supporting others.
  • Experience in professional services preferred; a genuine interest in understanding the sector is essential.
Why Join Us?
  • Highly competitive salary and benefits with attractive growth incentives.
  • Central London office.
  • Supportive, collaborative culture and team.
  • Clear progression pathway and career development.
  • Be part of a growing firm making a real impact.
