Arnold Clark is recruiting a Graduate Safety Support Advisor for its Safety Support Team based at Kilbirnie Street, Glasgow, with travel required throughout Scotland and England.
Hours: Full time, Monday to Friday, 8.30 am – 5.00 pm
About the role: As a Graduate Safety Support Advisor you’ll grow your career within an established health and safety team, working towards becoming a fully‑fledged and competent Health and Safety Advisor within a three‑year period. A health and safety‑related degree or a recently completed NEBOSH diploma/certificate will help, but enthusiasm, a passion for learning and a positive safety culture are essential.
Day‑to‑day duties:
- Handling project assignments that require identifying potential hazards and reducing risks.
- Travelling to branches to assist Health and Safety Advisors.
- Improving our safety management system.
- Researching and monitoring changes to health and safety legislation.
- Compiling statistics, writing reports and quality document control.
- Supporting the network of Safety Champions across the group.
Essential skills:
- Strong communication and influencing skills.
- Good IT skills, including knowledge of Microsoft Office.
- Excellent time management skills and the ability to prioritise workload.
- High accuracy and the ability to multitask.
- Up‑to‑date knowledge of health and safety legislation.
- Full driving licence held for at least one year.
Nice to have (but not essential): Any relevant health and safety training or experience.
