Overview
In this MOT Tester role, you will certify vehicles meet roadworthiness standards while working with a skilled team at our Arnold Clark MG branch in Birtley. You will handle MOT testing, identify defects, and keep records up to date, adopting DVSA guidelines and delivering reliable customer guidance. The position offers training to become EV‑accredited and a clear path for professional growth within a supportive, inclusive culture.
Pay / Benefits
- 40,000 – 50,000 DOE plus benefits
- Performance bonuses up to 9,000 every three years
- Overtime paid at time and a half
- Starting 33 days’ annual leave

Responsibilities
- Perform MOT tests in line with DVSA standards
- Identify vehicle defects and failures
- Stay updated with MOT testing guidelines and best practices
- Maintain accurate documentation of inspections
- Provide customer service and technical advice
Key requirements
- Qualified Technician – Level 2 Light Vehicle Maintenance certification (Level 3 preferred)
- DVSA Tester Certification
- Experience in MOT testing
- Full UK Driving Licence
