Assistant Bodyshop Manager (St. Helens, Merseyside)

Hours: Full time: Monday – Friday 8am – 5.30pm and alternate Saturdays 8am – 12pm.

About the role

As an Arnold Clark Assistant Bodyshop Manager, you\’ll help run our accident repair centres alongside the Bodyshop Manager, dealing with customers and working as a team to restore cars to their former glory. The ideal candidate will have previous experience in the motor industry and be proactive, organised, and goal‑oriented.

Day‑to‑day duties

• Liaising with customers and delivering excellent customer service.
• Co‑ordinating with the Bodyshop Manager to manage a team of staff.
• Carrying out bodyshop quality‑control checks.
• Updating internal systems.
• Estimating and invoicing using Audatex.
• Motivating staff to achieve targets and maximise productivity.
• Ensuring everyone adheres to company policy and health & safety best practice, including housekeeping.

Essential skills

• Experience in a similar management role in the automotive sector.
• Good computer literacy.
• Strong communication and influencing skills.
• Positive and proactive attitude.
• High levels of organisation and attention to detail.
• Ability to motivate staff to reach targets.
• Previous Audatex estimating experience.
• Full, clean driving licence held for a minimum of one year.

Nice to have

• Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Excel).
