As a full-time, entry-level Vehicle Mechanic in the British Army, you'll:
- Keep the Army's vehicles available in barracks and on operations
- Service and maintain all vehicle types from Tanks to HGVs
- Conduct preventative maintenance
- Work in line with Army policy on vehicle maintenance and Health and Safety guidelines
- Assist in roadworthiness testing of all Army vehicles
To qualify, you must be between 16 years 6 months and 35 years 6 months, pass a basic fitness test, and have GCSEs grade A-D/9-3 in at least English Language, Maths and Science.
During your initial training, you'll earn £18,687, after which your salary will rise to £23,496. If you set your mind to it, you could reach Corporal within 5 years, earning £33,065. You'll also receive 38 days annual leave every year.
