The Army Benevolent Fund (ABF) is the Army’s national charity, supporting soldiers, veterans, and their immediate families in times of need. Founded in 1944, our purpose is to provide a lifetime of support to serving soldiers, former soldiers, and their families when they are in need, ensuring they can avoid hardship and enjoy independence and dignity. The Charity operates a regional structure across England, Scotland, Wales, and Northern Ireland, with its central office in London.
The Charity intends to review its approach to volunteering from first principles, seeking to improve and modernise its offer to existing volunteers and to attract future volunteers. This role is an exciting opportunity to help design and shape that process. Operating on a consultancy basis, the role holder will review our existing arrangements, bring insight from their knowledge and experience in the sector, and propose an ideal future state for the charity. Working closely with the Assistant Director of Community Fundraising and Engagement, this role will combine strategic vision with practical delivery, briefing at a senior level to trustees and senior management and interacting with our volunteer network and regional offices.
What We Offer
The starting salary is £35,000 pro rata on a 6-month fixed term contract based at the Charity’s Office in Victoria (The Charity currently operates a minimum of 2 days in the office).
