The Role

The main elements of this role include:

  • Working collaboratively with the Head Chef to prepare and deliver seasonal dishes to a high standard.
  • Assisting in the development and planning of menus, ensuring that dishes are prepared with attention to detail and in a timely manner.
  • Whilst maintaining high standards of food hygiene and safety, manage inventory and supplies, and contribute to the training and supervision of junior kitchen staff.
  • Engaging with suppliers, participating in the creation of special dishes or menus for events, and providing input on cost control measures.
  • Co‑ordinating with the Front of House Team to ensure a seamless dining experience for clients, colleagues and visitors.

The Candidate

In order to fulfil the responsibilities of the position, we would like candidates to be / have:

  • Previous experience of working in a professional kitchen environment.
  • A passion for experimenting with new cuisines and learning new techniques.
  • Exemplary communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Experience of delivering first class customer service to the general public.
  • A strong understanding of food hygiene and health and safety regulations.
  • Basic IT skills, and be confident when using technology (such as appliances, ordering apps, and tills).
  • Excellent organisation and prioritisation skills.
  • A friendly manner when liaising with any colleague / visitor / client and ensuring they are made to feel comfortable when visiting Armstrong Watson premises.
