The Role
As a result of growth, we are now recruiting for a Credit Controller to join our Carlisle, Leeds or Newcastle office. This is a brilliant opportunity for an experienced Credit Controller to join a well-established team and contribute to the on-going success of the firm. The role supports the finance team in managing client accounts, ensuring timely collection of payments. This position is key to sustaining strong client relationships and healthy cash flow for the firm. The main elements of this role will include:
- Dealing with your own client base and reporting direct to fee earner as and when required
- Chasing clients when invoices are overdue for payment by telephone, letter and email, in a professional manner
- Maintaining accurate records of communications, transactions, and payment schedules, including updating client contact details when required
- Helping to manage the shared credit control inbox
- Responding promptly to adhoc client and fee earner queries
- Negotiating arrangements with clients to clear outstanding debt
- Applying the firms credit control policy
- Dealing with solicitors in pursuing recovery of bad debts
- Ensuring that cash and credit notes are posted as required
- Working in partnership with other credit control employees
- Submitting finance agreements
- Carrying out additional internal finance tasks as required to cover absence
- Notifying other members of the finance team when provisions are required
The Candidate
In order to fulfil the responsibilities of the position, we would like candidates to have:
- 3-5 years Credit Control experience
- Strong excel and data reporting skills
- Strong communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills
- Strong attention to detail
- Good attention to detail and able to identify anomalies and complete accurate reconciliations
