We're looking for a Regional EHS Advisor to join our growing Environment, Health & Safety team. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working with people just as much as they enjoy Health & Safety. We're looking for an advisor who can build trusted relationships, influence positive behaviours and support our practice teams to create safe and healthy working environments.
About the Role
Based in or around York, you'll support practices across Yorkshire and surrounding areas through a combination of site visits, home working and collaborative working with colleagues across the business. This is not a role where you'll simply tell people what they're doing wrong. Success comes from building trust, understanding operational challenges and working alongside teams to find practical solutions that support both safety and business needs. You’ll have the autonomy to manage your own region whilst being supported by an experienced and collaborative EHS team.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Building positive relationships with Practice Managers, Clinical Directors and practice teams
- Acting as a trusted advisor on health, safety and environmental matters
- Conducting site audits and supporting practices with improvement plans
- Providing practical, proportionate and commercially sensible advice
- Investigating incidents and supporting root cause analysis
- Delivering engaging health and safety training both online and face-to-face
- Developing policies, procedures, risk assessments and safe systems of work
- Reviewing data, identifying trends and supporting continuous improvement initiatives
- Supporting fire safety compliance and escalating concerns where appropriate
- Collaborating with colleagues across the wider Vet Partners business
About You
We are looking for someone who combines technical Health & Safety knowledge with excellent people skills. You'll be approachable, pragmatic and confident building relationships with colleagues at all levels.
- NEBOSH General Certificate or equivalent
- Experience in a Health & Safety Advisor, Officer, Auditor or similar role
- Good working knowledge of UK Health & Safety legislation
- Excellent communication and relationship‑building skills
- Ability to influence and coach others in a positive and supportive way
- Strong organisational and time management skills
- Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle with business insurance
- Willingness to travel regularly, including overnight stays as required
- NEBOSH Diploma and/or CertIOSH membership
- Experience within healthcare, veterinary or multi‑site environments
- Experience delivering training and presentations
- Experience writing policies and risk assessments
- Experience using Excel, Power BI or other reporting tools
