Special Friends Animal Medical Centre is a small, friendly, 100% small-animal practice in the heart of Redditch. RCVS PSS registered and proud of our team culture, we offer a supportive and enjoyable place to work where everyone plays their part. We’re seeking an experienced Veterinary Surgeon who enjoys a varied role and is keen to contribute to a warm team atmosphere.

The Role

  • Permanent 30-37 hours per week
  • No OOH or Bank Holidays
  • Salary - Up to £75,000 FTE (dependent on experience)

You’ll be joining our fabulous, close-knit team of 4 FTE Vets, 6 RVNs, 4 Receptionists, and 1 Practice Manager. We offer a psychologically safe environment that supports clinical freedom, alongside access to a strong local community of colleagues, not just within Special Friends, but across our wider network of practices. We work collaboratively across all areas of the practice, making it a truly cohesive and positive environment.

Responsibilities

  • A mix of consultations and surgical procedures
  • Supporting and mentoring vet students when they’re on site
  • Maintaining high standards of clinical care

Ideal Candidate

  • Experienced and confident in general practice
  • Friendly, supportive and team-focused
  • Comfortable with a balance of consults, surgery and occasional sole charge
  • RCVS registered

Training & Development

  • Funded and encouraged CPD, further qualifications are encouraged and supported
  • Opportunities for mentoring with our visiting peripatetic surgeons
