Lead with compassion. Deliver a service that makes a difference.

Every pet deserves dignity, and every pet owner deserves care and understanding. As Crematorium Site Manager, you’ll lead a team delivering a compassionate, reliable service for pet owners and veterinary practices, making a difficult time a little easier for the people who depend on us.

About the role

You’ll take responsibility for the day-to-day running of our crematorium, ensuring every pet is handled with care, every request is followed accurately, and every collection and return is completed on time.

You’ll lead, support and develop your team, maintain a safe and well-presented site, and ensure our operations meet the required environmental, animal health and safety standards. Working closely with the Head of Operations and colleagues across the business, you’ll help us maintain high standards and continually improve our service.

What you will be doing

  • Lead your team: Manage rotas, recruitment, training, and performance, building a supportive team that takes pride in its work.
  • Oversee daily operations: Ensure pets are accurately tracked; cremations are completed correctly and ashes are prepared and returned in line with individual requests.
  • Coordinate collections: Manage driver schedules and veterinary practice collections, adapting plans when priorities change.
  • Maintain high standards: Keep the site clean, secure, and welcoming, and ensure equipment, machinery and vehicles are properly maintained.
  • Ensure compliance: Oversee site checks, records, and procedures, meeting environmental, animal health, data protection and health and safety requirements.
  • Build strong relationships: Work with veterinary practices, pet owners, inspectors and colleagues, handling questions and concerns with professionalism and compassion.
  • Drive improvements: Monitor performance, manage supplies and stock, complete reporting, and identify practical ways to improve service quality and efficiency.

What we are looking for

  • Experience leading or supervising a team, with responsibility for performance and service delivery.
  • Strong communication and organisational skills, with the ability to prioritise work and manage competing deadlines.
  • A compassionate, customer-focused approach, including confidence in handling concerns or complaints sensitively.
  • Attention to detail and a commitment to following procedures, maintaining accurate records, and working safely.
  • A proactive, practical approach to problem‑solving, with the confidence to take responsibility and seek guidance when needed.

Nice to have

  • Experience managing a site in a warehouse, production, processing, or service environment.
  • ADR or WAMITAB qualifications.
  • Familiarity with environmental or animal health regulations, including Environment Agency (EA) or Animal and Plant Health Agency (APHA) requirements.
  • Experience managing drivers, collection schedules, or industrial waste services.
  • Make a meaningful difference to pet owners during an emotional time.
  • Lead a team where compassion, dignity and professionalism matter.
  • Take ownership of site operations and shape how services are delivered.
  • Develop your leadership, operational and compliance skills.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues and veterinary practices to deliver a service you can be proud of.
  • 23 days Holiday + Bank Holidays

We welcome applications from people with different backgrounds and experiences. If you meet the essential criteria but not every desirable requirement, we’d still love to hear from you.
