Clyde Vet Group Equine Hospital is seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated RVN to join our experienced team of Equine Veterinary Nurses and Care Assistants. The Role

As an Equine RVN, you'll play a vital role in delivering outstanding patient care across all areas of the hospital, including:

Patient Care & Hospital Nursing

  • Providing exceptional care for both inpatients and outpatients
  • Nursing sick and injured horses, including administering medication and monitoring recovery and pain levels
  • Preparing patients for procedures and surgery
  • Assisting with veterinary examinations, investigations and treatments
  • Educating clients on ongoing care, rehabilitation and preventative health

Clinical & Diagnostic Nursing

  • Blood sampling and intravenous catheter placement
  • Wound management and bandage application
  • Supporting a range of diagnostic imaging procedures, including radiography, ultrasonography and scintigraphy
  • Performing laboratory work including haematology, biochemistry, urinalysis, faecal analysis and cytology

Surgical & Anaesthesia Support

  • Preparing theatre and surgical equipment
  • Sterilising instruments and maintaining clinical standards
  • Assisting with anaesthesia monitoring and surgical procedures

Stable & General Hospital Duties

  • Daily patient care including feeding, grooming and stable management
  • Maintaining excellent hygiene and biosecurity standards
  • Ensuring clinical and stable areas remain clean, organised and safe

Equine Handling & Health & Safety

  • Confidently handling a wide variety of equine patients, including youngstock, stallions and fit competition horses
  • Monitoring patients for signs of illness, discomfort or injury
  • Following hospital health and safety protocols, including lone-working procedures where required

About You

We're looking for someone who:

  • Is a Registered Veterinary Nurse (RVN) with a recognised veterinary nursing qualification
  • Has current or previous equine nursing experience (preferred)
  • May be a Student Veterinary Nurse approaching qualification
  • Is confident providing emergency and critical care support
  • Is comfortable handling a broad range of equine patients
  • Is reliable, organised and self-motivated
  • Enjoys working as part of a supportive team
  • Holds a full UK driving licence
  • Can either relocate to the area or lives within approximately 30 minutes of Lanark
  • Is willing to participate in out-of-hours work when required

Salary: Dependent upon experience.
