This role bridges technical design and commercial alignment, ensuring our proposals are compelling, deliverable, and scalable.
Key Responsibilities
- Engage with customers to understand requirements, challenges, and desired outcomes.
- Develop High-Level Designs (HLDs) and Low-Level Designs (LLDs) for infrastructure, cloud, and managed services solutions.
- Produce and maintain customer-facing artefacts, including: Service Catalogues; Design collateral (diagrams, architectures, statement of work, Bill of Materials, technical write-ups); Proposals and bid responses; Solution presentations.
- Work closely with sales, delivery, and operations teams to ensure solutions are practical and aligned to customer needs.
- Working with Sales and Commercial teams to ensure scope, estimates, pricing assumptions, and risk positions; ensure deliverability and margin.
- Support pre-sales activities including workshops, discovery sessions, and solution shaping.
- Stay up to date with vendor technologies, best practices, and emerging trends.
Skills & Experience
- Strong background in infrastructure, cloud, or managed services environments.
- Proven ability to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
- Experience developing both HLDs and LLDs.
- Comfortable creating customer-facing documents and presentations.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Knowledge across multiple technology and platforms is desirable.
- Experience in solution design is essential, and within a similar managed services environment is desirable.
- Familiar with ITIL, ISO 27001, GDPR, and secure-by-design principles.
- Experience with RFP/RFI responses and public-sector style scoring.
- Ability to communicate with users and sponsors; and frame solutions around outcomes.
- Can break ambiguity into clear options with pros/cons and risks/issues.
- Is able to build consensus across technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Takes ownership and is proactive, follows through, with attention to detail.
- Quality bar: Writes clean, reusable artefacts; designs that are operable on Day 2.
