We are seeking an experienced Network Engineer to lead the design, implementation, and support of enterprise and data centre network infrastructure across operational environments. The successful candidate will play a key role in delivering complex customer and internal infrastructure projects while ensuring high availability, security, and performance across mission-critical platforms. This role requires strong hands-on technical expertise combined with proven project delivery experience within data centre, enterprise, or managed service environments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Network Engineering & Operations
    • Design, implement, and maintain highly available network infrastructure across core, distribution, and access layers
    • Support data centre switching, routing, and connectivity platforms
    • Manage and optimise WAN, LAN, VPN, and internet connectivity services
    • Troubleshoot complex network incidents and perform root cause analysis
    • Monitor infrastructure performance and capacity planning
    • Maintain network security standards, segmentation, and firewall policies
    • Participate in on-call support and major incident management
  • Project Delivery
    • Lead technical delivery of infrastructure and customer migration projects
    • Produce low-level and high-level design documentation
    • Deliver network refresh, expansion, and transformation programmes
    • Coordinate implementation activities with internal teams, vendors, and customers
    • Ensure projects are delivered to scope, budget, and timelines
    • Support pre-sales and technical solution design where required

Required Technical Skills

  • Strong experience with enterprise and data centre networking technologies
  • Advanced knowledge of:
    • Routing & Switching (BGP, OSPF, VLANs, STP, VRF)
    • Cisco, Juniper, Arista, or similar enterprise platforms
    • Firewalls and security technologies
    • VPN and remote access solutions
    • Load balancing and high-availability environments
    • Network monitoring and troubleshooting tools
  • Experience with:
    • Cloud connectivity (AWS, Azure, GCP)
    • SD-WAN technologies
    • Virtualised network environments
    • Structured cabling and rack deployments
    • Familiarity with automation tools such as Ansible, Python, or Terraform desirable

Experience & Qualifications

  • Minimum 5+ years’ experience in a senior network engineering role
  • Experience working within a data centre, managed services, or enterprise environment
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and within project teams
