We are seeking an experienced Network Engineer to lead the design, implementation, and support of enterprise and data centre network infrastructure across operational environments. The successful candidate will play a key role in delivering complex customer and internal infrastructure projects while ensuring high availability, security, and performance across mission-critical platforms. This role requires strong hands-on technical expertise combined with proven project delivery experience within data centre, enterprise, or managed service environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Network Engineering & Operations
- Design, implement, and maintain highly available network infrastructure across core, distribution, and access layers
- Support data centre switching, routing, and connectivity platforms
- Manage and optimise WAN, LAN, VPN, and internet connectivity services
- Troubleshoot complex network incidents and perform root cause analysis
- Monitor infrastructure performance and capacity planning
- Maintain network security standards, segmentation, and firewall policies
- Participate in on-call support and major incident management
- Project Delivery
- Lead technical delivery of infrastructure and customer migration projects
- Produce low-level and high-level design documentation
- Deliver network refresh, expansion, and transformation programmes
- Coordinate implementation activities with internal teams, vendors, and customers
- Ensure projects are delivered to scope, budget, and timelines
- Support pre-sales and technical solution design where required
Required Technical Skills
- Strong experience with enterprise and data centre networking technologies
- Advanced knowledge of:
- Routing & Switching (BGP, OSPF, VLANs, STP, VRF)
- Cisco, Juniper, Arista, or similar enterprise platforms
- Firewalls and security technologies
- VPN and remote access solutions
- Load balancing and high-availability environments
- Network monitoring and troubleshooting tools
- Experience with:
- Cloud connectivity (AWS, Azure, GCP)
- SD-WAN technologies
- Virtualised network environments
- Structured cabling and rack deployments
- Familiarity with automation tools such as Ansible, Python, or Terraform desirable
Experience & Qualifications
- Minimum 5+ years’ experience in a senior network engineering role
- Experience working within a data centre, managed services, or enterprise environment
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills
- Ability to work independently and within project teams
