Key Responsibilities

  • Project Delivery
    • Lead end-to-end delivery of data centre construction projects, including planning, execution, monitoring, and close-out.
    • Develop and manage project programmes, budgets, and resource plans.
    • Coordinate with design teams, contractors, and consultants to ensure alignment and progress.
    • Oversee procurement of construction services, equipment, and materials.
    • Manage all on-site construction activities, ensuring compliance with specifications and standards.
    • Oversee installation of critical systems including power, cooling, mechanical, and structural elements.
    • Ensure adherence to health, safety, and environmental regulations at all times.
    • Conduct regular site inspections and progress reviews.
  • Stakeholder Management
    • Act as the primary point of contact for internal stakeholders, contractors, and external partners.
    • Provide clear and consistent reporting on project status, risks, and milestones.
    • Facilitate coordination between engineering, operations, and commercial teams.
  • Risk & Quality Management
    • Identify project risks and implement mitigation strategies.
    • Ensure quality assurance processes are in place and followed throughout the build.
    • Manage change control processes and assess impact on cost and schedule.
    • Oversee commissioning activities to ensure systems are tested and operational.
    • Ensure smooth transition from construction to operations teams.
    • Manage documentation, certification, and final project close-out.

Key Requirements

  • Experience
    • Proven experience managing large-scale construction projects, ideally within data centres or other mission-critical environments (e.g. healthcare, utilities, industrial facilities).
  • Skills
    • Strong project management and organisational skills.
    • Excellent stakeholder management and communication abilities.
    • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
    • Solid understanding of construction contracts and commercial management.
  • Qualifications
    • Project Management certification (e.g. PRINCE2, PMP) preferred.
