Armstrong Knight is working exclusively with a highly regarded and established accountancy practice in Benfleet that is looking to appoint an experienced Client Bookkeeper to join its growing team.
This is an excellent opportunity for somebody who enjoys the variety and client interaction that comes with working in practice but wants to join a firm with a friendly, down-to-earth culture and a genuinely supportive approach to its people.
You'll be joining an established team and taking responsibility for a varied portfolio of owner-managed businesses and SME clients.
The Role:
Your responsibilities will include:
- Managing bookkeeping for a varied portfolio of clients
- Preparing and maintaining accurate accounting records
- Bank and control account reconciliations
- Purchase and sales ledger
- Preparing and submitting VAT returns
- Processing journals and adjustments
- Preparing bookkeeping records through to trial balance
- Liaising directly with clients and responding to queries
- Working closely with accountants and managers across the practice
- Using cloud accounting packages including Xero and QuickBooks
Depending upon your experience, there may also be opportunities to become involved in management accounts and other areas of client accounting.
We're particularly interested in speaking with candidates who have previous bookkeeping experience gained within an accountancy practice or outsourced client accounting environment.
You should be comfortable managing multiple clients and deadlines and, importantly, enjoy building relationships with clients rather than simply processing transactions.
AAT qualifications would be advantageous but are not essential where you have strong practical experience.
